Pork in the Park Festival & Competition | Podcast

Pork in the Park Festival pitmasters and competitors descend on Newberry, S.C. on April 25-26, for food, live music, and free fun for the entire family. The Low & Slow Barbecue Show explores the 10-year-old festival with organizer Devan Moore, who shares details about the free Friday night concert, barbecue & beverages for public consumption, and a day of competition sanctioned by Southern Barbecue Network.  Tune in to hear about the barbecue journey of pitmaster, barbecue competitor, and founder of the Smokin’ Butts and More food truck. Find out which protein is a priority, how he turned a hobby into a full-time job in his retirement, and his ingredients (pain reliever!) for a successful event. Joel doesn’t reveal any secrets, but he does let slip the scoop on where you can find his one-of-a-kind sauce.
